Entrepreneurship is something that creeps in all our minds at one point.

It’s not necessarily proactively stressed in our educational system. Not to mention the 90% failure rate of startups.

Together, these don’t make it necessarily an enticing approach to go after.

At the end of the day, failing sucks. Trust me I made plenty of mistakes in my life. At the same time, though, I’ve been blessed to be introduced to a whole different world.

It seems to me that it’s a path not often taken. If you clicked on the link above you can see why.

Despite this, if you ask many successful entrepreneurs it is definitely worth the journey. Surprisingly, there is a simple concept to follow. Though, it’s not easy.

What does it take to be an entrepreneur?

Think about your day.

We wake up, shower and head to work.

In those 3 seemingly simple steps, we all come across something we all experience, regardless of who you are.

That is problems.

Think about it.

Rich, poor or even middle class, we all have problems.

Our problems may be different. Nonetheless, we all have them.

And according to Jay Samit, with problems we are already half way towards accomplishing something great.

The key is how we look at problems.

Instead of thinking of problems as hurdles to cry about…why not think of them as opportunities to solve? An opportunity to solve other people’s problems? An opportunity to make not only your life better, but your friends and family’s as well.

Once you compile your list of problems to solve (visit JaySamit’s website for your Free Disrupt You! companion workbook) you now have ideas.

The only thing left is to make those ideas come to life.

And that comes with perseverance.

More on perseverance

Earlier I mentioned my fair share of failings.

They suck.

They do hurt.

They do cause you stress.

They do sap your energy.

The thing you can't do is succumb to failure. Failure is when we mentally shutdown. In other words, you throw the towel in.

But there is something that keeps us going.

With perseverance comes motivation. Now you may be familiar with this. You know what I'm talking about, when our motivation levels are through the roof...to start. But over time, our motivation levels tend to wane.

What can we do about that?

Well, just as we need a refresher by showering daily to feel good and clean, you could also say we need motivational refreshers.

And with everyone that is something different.

You just have to get to know and be real with yourself to find out what truly motivates you.

Conclusion

You can Disrupt the world. But disruption starts with personal disruption. Don't be tied down to a system. Don't listen to others who failed to fulfill their dreams. Think and be limitless. You're only 2 steps away. Pick up Disrupt You! by Jay Samit to help you on your journey to live a life of purpose.
